Runs 2 – 3 times a year. 

Training includes: ·     

- Checking & assessing each dog’s fundamental understanding at the basic level so we can get to know theirs’ and your needs.    

- Understanding what influences a good, or indeed, a poor recall.

- Long line recall training and how to use long lines as appropriate for the group.

- Play, fun motivational games, jackpots and influential details you may not have considered.

Your dogs are not able to train all day long.  You will be having constructive tutorials within the day's training whilst your dogs’ have important rest spells.  For this reason, all the dogs ideally need to be able to relax and settle in their own crates which can be set up in our centre or in your cars to have those well-earned naps and be fresh for their next lesson.  The morning is uniformly formatted, and the afternoon becomes flexible to the group, selecting training exercises we identify as being beneficial for you all.  We send you home with a brief review of the work you each individually need to be focusing on.  Some of our Handlers attend this workshop more than once, returning to expand on their progress as well as refresh the basics.    Lunch Break and coffee breaks are included during the course of the day.

Training includes:

- Checking & assessing each dog’s fundamental understanding on a lead so we can get to know theirs’ and your needs.  -- -- Understanding what influences good, or indeed, poor lead walking manners.

- On lead relationship building.

- Setting up the right strategy plan for you.

Your dogs are not able to train all day long.  You will be having constructive tutorials within the day's training whilst your dogs’ have important rest spells.  For this reason, all the dogs ideally need to be able to relax and settle in their own crates which can be set up in our centre or in your cars to have those well-earned naps and be fresh for their next lesson.  We have a comprehensive training toolbox for Lead Work, and you will get split into groups based upon your levels and needs.  As the session goes on, the support you receive may become increasingly individualised.  A half hour lunch and coffee breaks are provided.

We run the Bronze, Silver & Gold Medal Tests in different ways here at Pets In Partnership.  We often incorporate tests into our pet dog classes when its right for a group.  We also run open house one off Test Days on select weekends which get organised based on build up of demand.  These tests have to be pre-booked by their given deadline so that we can organise the day effectively for everyone.  If numbers are high for a certain test then we will schedule two on the same day. In general we run 2 Bronze & Silver a year and 1 Gold a year We also occasionally run weekend training days for the tests which includes a mock test and of course training practice on site.

This is gun dog-based whistle work focusing on two exercises:

- The Whistle Stop

- The Whistle Recall

We start at the very beginning for those whose dogs are going on to  a whistle for the first time, and we continue to push on those with dogs who are already underway with the whistle and who want to top up their training or move things forward.   There is both group activity and individual activity.  Training is based outdoors.  Individual work may take place indoors on occasion.   Coffee break for the humans and a rest spell for the dogs is included, so cars & crates can be useful.

Mondays 6pm or 7pm for  1-2 hours

Runs multiple times a year. 

Unlimited Spaces

There are different areas of K9 Communication to learn.  This particular Webinar focuses on K9 Communication within our own homes.  Looking at the differences between our human way of communicating and their canine way of communicating, and how we end up understanding each other.  We look at the problems that can occur and the strategies on making positive changes for all.

Mondays 6pm or 7pm for  1-2 hours

This becomes tailor made to the group and based on the groups needs, will cover any of the following:

- Understanding the use of crates properly and the relationship between a dog and their crate.

- How to set these dens up and how to positively prepare for a successful crate training process.

- We do live crate training in your living rooms, problem solving as we go.

- Everybody receives their first goal posts, and gets a good over view of the whole crate training process.

Runs Once a Year

We often use essences to help support pets and their owners within our practical programmes of work.  This workshop provides the time and space to learn about Vibrational Medicine, Dr Bach and the Bach Flower Essences he created.

Get an insight into the science of energy through experiments with water and how far Dr Bach's work has expanded. Most importantly receive the opportunity to tune in and select some essences for your pets and/or for you. Go home with personal combinations made up.  Two bottles each are inclusive in the price.

This workshop is run by Rebecca who is a qualified practitioner, Dip.CVM, affiliated to the Institute of Complementary Medicine. The day just involves the presence of the human members of the family but focuses in on the pets we are here for.    Breaks & lunch break included.

Runs Once a Year on site or can be hosted externally by other groups.

Rebecca & Odette have been running K9 First Aid Courses since 2003, when Rebecca was an active Veterinary Nurse and Odette worked for the RSPCA.  Between them they designed a series of thorough courses for pet dog owners at a time when there were none, with the sole aim of:

Reducing panic

Improving understanding of the Veterinary processes

Giving the tools to give their pets every possible chance between an incident happening and getting them to the door of the Veterinary practice.

The knowledge to be able to recognise certain conditions.

They truly brought the first C.A.S.P.E.R. resuscitation dog into the country from the USA, making the East Anglian news under the umbrella of the Central School of Dog Training.  The courses have travelled up and down the country in their time and under the guise of Altogether Animals, was also used to train kennel staff at the Northumbria Police Headquarters.

The service was closed a year or so before the pandemic in part because there are so many first aid courses out there now.  However, this service is being reopened for pet dog owners.  It can provide certificates of attendance but is not affiliated to a college. 

Content and training is kept up to date through Veterinary checks.   Courses now include, Essential K9 First Aid & Advanced K9 First Aid.

Seminars are on Saturdays 9.30am - 1.30pm or 1.30pm - 5.30pm

Webinars are Monday evenings 6pm or 7pm for 2 hours

Separation Anxiety is one of the most common behaviour problems that can occur amongst our dogs.  It is also a fixable problem in the main and one of Rebecca’s specialities.  However, there are different forms of separation issues, and the issues can become more complex if there are other things going on simultaneously such as fear of noises.

These sessions provide the following:

A clearer understanding of pure Separation Anxiety and an insight into the alternative forms of separation problems.    Identifying what is relevant where your dog(s) is concerned.

Understanding how we humans can create Separation Anxiety in our dogs amongst other causes.

Covers the basic programme of work that helps resolve the majority of cases.

Opens up options for those with more complex cases.

The Seminar version is slightly more extensive than the webinar version, but each works well.  Coffee/Cake break is included and a little bit of practical work takes place.

Noise sensitivity is another highly common occurrence amongst our dogs and can become acutely problematic, reducing walks and causing no end of distress for all concerned.  It can also deteriorate at surprising speed.

There is a difference between a fear and a phobia that has to be understood.  There are many causes and many complexities, with each dog’s story being different.

These sessions improve overall understanding of noise fear/phobias and most importantly of how we can unintentionally escalate the issues ourselves. 

Rebecca provides a basic level toolkit to start helping the situation and for some this alone can make a world of difference but for others, more bespoke action may be required, but the core fundamentals in this workshop still hold relevance.    This can be a good starting point

Limited Handler Spaces

We throw in Pop Up Sport Activity Workshops run by us or guest trainers. These might be Agility, Scentwork, Obedience or Tracking.  Gundog, Tricks or Rally Obedience.  Clicker Training or Play and Retrieve Training.    Absolute maximum number in a group is 10 handlers and dogs, some will be less.  Duration of course varies from activity to activity. We shout these out on Social Media, so please do follow us and connect in with us there.

Most of our team have multi dog households and many of our Handlers too. Multi dog households have increased over the years and when they run smoothly it can be great fun. 

However, there are unique problems that flare up in multi dog households and there is one particular hazard that can cause untold trouble and distress. If you are thinking about getting a second (or indeed third or fourth) dog and want to learn more before you decide and select your dog, you'll find this very informative. 

If you want to prevent common multi dog household problems from arising, this will help you do that.  If you want to understand some difficulties you are having or feel you need help and haven't known what to do… this will give you some direction and support.
